King Township Cycling Routes

King is close to Toronto on the Oak Ridges Moriane which offers optimum Cycling and Biking. We have suggested a number of Cycling Routes in three levels of difficulty, but you should certainly explore on your own. There are weekly Wednesday night mountain biking races at Centennial Park. You may want to plan your King Township Cycling or Biking Trip around one of the many local Fairs, Festivals and events listed below or you may wish to refer to the King Event Calendar for a full year of activities.

Steeped in history and culture, King continues to celebrate the rural way of life by holding many annual events like the Nobleton Victoria Day Fair and Fireworks, the Schomberg Agricultural Fair, series of outdoor Wednesday night family Movies on the Lawn, Garden Tours, Seneca Dragon Boat Festival, Kingfest Music Celebration, King Swings Jazz Festival, and the Kettleby Fair. Doors Open Ontario Heritage Festival is showcases significant heritage locations in King Township in September. Celebrate the season at the Schomberg Main Street Christmas.

Proud of it's heritage, King boasts the oldest railway station in Ontario and some of the finest estates in Canada; Eaton Hall and Mary Lake . Since 1949, Mary Lake has been home to an Augustinian Monastery, with a retreat centre. King abounds with other such significant heritage buildings, Churches and Pioneer Cemeteries (download Map.) Coming to King Township is like taking a voyage into the past.

Come antiquing or visit one of our many local artists, pick your perfect pumpkin or basket of apples. Stroll through gardens and visit the Holland Marsh which offers fresh picked vegetables, seasonal fare and fruit. Visiting the Marsh is like visiting another planet.
